TELEFANTASY STUDIOS
LA-based video artist Jennifer Juniper Stratford makes kitchy space-age movies via her Telefantasy Studios project. Videos are viewable on the Telefantasy site, but also on Vimeo, and she's got a blog, too. I took these screen shots from the Telefantasy site, which are so cool because (and I guess it's just my internet connection) the Quicktime movies are pixelated like a psychadelic Skype chat gone right. Switching to Vimeo, I was a little disappointed they're not intentionally like that, but the videos are still fun. Also, check out her collaboration with Ariel Pink cohort John Maus. If you've never been to LA, these videos are a pretty good gauge of one of the stronger indie scenes there, which blends lo-fi 80s space-age and dark wave.

PAINTING PALETTES PAINTINGS
A project by Daniel Eatock in collaboration with first year art students. This collection of self-referential paintings contains five top favorites in one: 'bad' paintings, color spectrums, collections, ambiguity, and unpretentiously clever things.

LATEST CRUSH: MIND DESIGN
London-based Mind Design doesn't "take part in award schemes", which is cool because I don't either (and yeah, solidarity feels good). Also, pleasantly surprised to see that they were the ones behind the Oyster Pearl Powder packaging. I've seen it around.

FOGGY pt. 2
Of course, I love this. Not crazy about the look complet, but I love the presentation. What else would one expect from Maison Martin Margiela, they who have found one million ways to obscure an identity. As everyone talked late last year of his leaving the company while simultaneously dissecting the paradoxical nature of his reclusiveness, I think it's interesting how the almost gimmick-like obscurity of both him and the brand identity seemed to never get old for the 20 year span of business. An absorbing article on Margiela and 'the cult of invisibility' can be found here. Photo from SS10, MM6 collection.
